Studying Accounting in DU provides a strong financial knowledge base, analytical skills, career stability, and opportunities in auditing, taxation, and financial management.
The Department of Management Studies was established the same year the University began full academic operation during 2017/2018 academic session. The department consists of Two (2) Programmes namely; B.Sc. Business Administration and B.Sc. Accounting. Dr. Adelekan S. Adedeji is the pioneer staff of the programme and was appointed the First Head of Department of Managemant Studies where the Programme is domiciled. Subsequently, six (6) lecturers joined the programme as full time namely; Akomolafe Rufus (Senior Lecturer), Dr.Ajibade Temiloluwa (Lecturer II), Mr. Adeniji Samson (Lecturer II), Dr.Dele-Oladejo Oyekunbi (Lecturer II), Dr.Falana Ranti (Lecturer II) and Mr. Sanyanolu (Lecturer II).
The Department has fulltime and visiting academic staff who engage in teaching and research in a wide variety of areas, covering Management, Business Communications, Accounting, Taxation & Tax Management, Principles of Accounting, Corporate Financial Reporting & Ethics, Quantitative Techniques and Treasury & Cash Management.
The part-time lecturers engaged in the department are Dr.Kajola Sunday, Dr.Soyemi Kenny, Dr. Lawal Babatunde and Dr.Ogundajo Grace. Total students in the department at present are six. The programme is currently in her fourth year and has experienced development since commencement.
